Anytown pairs the physicality of Shapiro & Smith Dance with the legendary music of Bruce Springsteen, Patti Scialfa, and Soozie Tyrell (of the E Street Band). Previewing at the Southern in 2004 ANYTOWN ‘has since toured to standing ovations in N.Y. and across the U.S. Bold, sexy and poignant, ANYTOWN has been expanded with the addition of 2 new Springsteen songs, including Maria’s Bed from Devils and Dust. Join us as the full-length ANYTOWN returns home, with even more high-power dancing for a special encore run.

Anytown received lead commissioning support from Dance Celebration, a co-presentation of Dance Affiliates and Penn Presents, through a grant from the Strauss Foundation, with additional funding from University of Florida Performing Arts, Purdue Convocations — Purdue University, the Count Basie Theatre, McKnight, Target and Harkness Foundations, Minnesota State Arts Board, the University of Minnesota, National Endowment for the Arts and numerous private donors.

Anytown previewed in 2004 at the Southern Theater, Minneapolis, MN and toured the U.S., returning to the Southern November 9-12, 2006. See more at the Anytown Website.
